Here is another very good lesson by Ms. Mary.

It is about slavery, states, and new word: compromise.

The British spent a lot of money in the French and Indian War.ย ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งย ๐Ÿ‘‹ย ๐Ÿ’ธ
They borrowed money.
Now they had to pay it back.ย ย ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
How would they get the money? ย ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

This war lasted 9 years!

The people in the American colonies were not happy after this war. ย ๐Ÿ˜ก

It was the end of “Salutary Neglect” — the British were watching and taxing the colonies now. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

We learned a lot about the Dutch๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ and British ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง people who came to America.

The first people in America were the Native Americans. They are also called Indians.

There were French ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท people in America too!

Everybody wanted some land… and soon there will be a war.ย โš ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Abolish means STOP! ย ๐Ÿ›‘

Abolitionists wanted to STOP slavery.

Ms. Mary will tell you about some of the people who wanted to abolish slavery:

  • Olaudah Equiano
  • John Brown
  • Harriet Tubman
  • Thomas Garrett
  • Frederick Douglass
  • William Lloyd Garrison
  • Harriet Beecher Stowe
  • Julia Ward Howe
  • Sojourner Truth

This is the last lesson about World War 1.

The American army and navy got VERY big during the war!

World War 1 started in 1914.
The United States did not want to be in this war.
In 1917, America decided it was time to fight.ย ๐Ÿ˜คย ๐Ÿ˜คย ๐Ÿ˜ค

The United States was neutral at the start of the war.

This lesson explains this word, and that neutrality does not always keep you safe.

Thank you, Rose Marie, for getting the information for me to make this lesson!

This lesson explains the 4 MAIN reasons for why World War 1 started:

  • M — Militarism
  • A — Alliances
  • I — Imperialism
  • N — Nationalism

Wow, big words! The lesson explains them. ๐Ÿ˜…
